Happy Valentine's!!

We have some new arrivals for Valentine's Day! Well, the first one is for anytime....yes....the Poo~Pourri is here!!! It comes in this cute little display. The bottle is even decorative enough to sit out in your cute little bathroom.
We also have some necklace pendants. These are made from dominoes. We have the chains available to buy with these.
I love love love these cute little things. They are rose petal soap. You peal off a petal and rub between your hands under the water. They look so cute sitting on a petite dish by the sink.
Here is a hint of our "Copy Cakes". They look so yummy..we have bon bons, petit fours, chocolate dipped strawberries....etc. Really pretty on a cake plate in your kitchen.
Come by to see our goodies and grab a cookie and cup of coffee...We would love to see you!!!

A Sneak Peek

This is a sneak peek of a project for the Cottage. It is the longest on going project I think I have ever worked on, maybe....I think it will be fabulous when I get finished. Marci found these chairs last Spring at auction and asked if I wanted them...no, they did not look like this...I will try to find a before picture. The chairs will go around a table that manly man and I made out of a french door. Soooo stay tuned...I plan to have the table and chairs ready for our February 21, Antiques on the Lawn sale.

What do you think so far?

Market Fun

Hello everyone!!! We are back from Market and had a blast. There were so many things to see and of course...not enough time to see them!!! We ran around like crazy women for 2 1/2 days. We did manage to order some REAL cute things!!! Easter will be so much fun with our Easter finds of Chocolate Bunnies and Fuzzy Chicks. We will have our cutie patootie Easter goodies out at our February "Antiques on the Lawn" Sale. That will be February 21...Be looking for more info through email and in the mail.
Another thing we ordered was Poo~Pourri.

For those of you that are not familiar...this may change your life!!! With Poo~Pourri you will be able to take care of business at any time. You just spritz the toilet water with one spray and it will "mask" any odor that may linger. It has a wonderful citrus smell. We should get this in the store pretty soon. Some friends are already trying to think of a way to train their husbands at home!!!!

Marci and I also spent some time talking about ways to make the Cottage even better. One thing we came up with is to be open more often!! We really have fun when we are there. Hopefully starting in February we will be open Tuesday through Saturday. We will keep you posted.
See you soon!!!

And We're Off!!!!......

Marci and I leave on Friday to go to Market!!! We have a friend that will be watching the store on Saturday...actually, it is my previous boss...how funny is that??? We are very excited about the wonderful things we will see there. We will be looking for seasonal items that will be a perfect match for our little cottage. Send me some ideas of what you might like to see and we will keep our eyes open for them in our search! Think of Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Summer and on and on and on!!!
Would love to hear from you!!

2009!!!!

Happy New Year from The Old Oak Cottage!!!

As much as I adore Christmas and all the decorations it is kind of fun to take them down and rearrange, isn't it? That's what has been done at the Cottage. We sold the cute little fake fireplace (my mom bought it and it looks great inside her fireplace all lit up) so out to the garage and shed to hunt down something cutie patootie to fill up this space. Don't you just love the little rocker?
The kitchen was fun!!! Nothing is in the same spot as before!!! You should have seen the transformation....it looked like a bomb had gone off in there for a while. I just love the little blue roll top desk.
Marci had a load of ironstone. I can't believe how fabulous it looks grouped together!!

The nice little music cabinet has been moved into the dining room. Did you know it has sheets of music inside. The music is from an old hymnal. Gotta love that!!!

The music cabinet used to sit on top of this shabby little table. It is perfect for a little corner in someones breakfast room.

The wash stand is the new coffee bar. Unless, of course, you need it in your home somewhere. Then it will be back out to the shed for us!!!
Marci found the cute little dresser. When we were moving it in I discovered the middle mirror has a lever on it and you can tip the mirror so that you can see yourself in full view standing up. How cool it that??
We bought the beautiful armoire from some friends of mine. Isn't it gorgeous!!!!

Marci went north to visit family and friends for the holidays. I stayed around here and had a great time with my family. We will reopen Friday, January 2nd and look forward to a fun and fabulous 2009. We will have our first "Antiques on the Lawn" sale in February. Keep in touch for details!!!
